At ExxonMobil Pipeline Company, we focus on safety and quality at every step in the construction process – from manufacturing, transport, assembly and burial of pipe, to restoration of the right-of-way surface – and that commitment continues for the life of the pipeline.
Horizontal directional drilling is used to install underground pipelines without digging a surface trench, limiting disturbance to roads, buildings, waterways and sensitive areas.
ExxonMobil Pipeline Company works continuously to maintain the integrity and reliability of our pipelines through multiple methods of testing and analysis to determine appropriate maintenance programs.
ExxonMobil Pipeline Company's pipeline experts may determine that replacement is preferred over repairing an existing pipeline. A focus on safety and quality is made at every step in the process – from manufacturing, transport, assembly and burial of pipe, to restoration of the right-of-way surface.
A pipeline that has been replaced is typically safely removed from service and maintained in place to minimize disturbances to the environment, our neighbors and existing pipelines or other utilities.
As our work proceeds, ExxonMobil Pipeline Company will communicate directly with landowners and community members to provide updates on our work and answer questions.
The existing pipelines continue to be safely maintained and operated. This project is part of regular maintenance that keeps our pipelines operating safely.
Pipeline segments selected for replacement are identified through a comprehensive analysis that includes review of their type of service and operational and maintenance history.
