In recent years, the United States has become one of the world’s top producers of oil and natural gas, and Texas is at the forefront. In 2020, Texas produced one-fourth of the nation’s natural gas and accounted for almost two-fifths of crude oil reserves and production. And with more than 17,000 miles of interstate natural gas pipelines within its borders, it remains well connected to markets throughout the country. By continuing to increase energy efficiency in Texas, we simultaneously bolster our regional and national security. Our energy infrastructure not only provides oil and natural gas on a national level, but in turn it creates the need for jobs within transportation, communications and more. ExxonMobil Pipeline’s routes across the Texas Gulf Coast are an important part of this interconnected network driving the state to the forefront of the global energy renaissance.
